Optimisation
of your existing network
- Correct
labelling of data/voice points, both patch-panel & wall plate,
enabling quick easy patching for your IT department.
- We
will also test all cable runs to the installed standard.
In previous audits we have detailed Cat5e installations running
at low speeds, slowing down entire networks.
- Cabinets
will be tidied using cable management systems and patch leads will be
re-patched.
Health
& Safety
- Untidy
cable bundles incorrectly contained.
- Trailing
cables.
- Overhanging
cables.
- Glass
on all communications cabinets should be toughened or laminate.
- Incorrectly
mounted communications cabinets.
- Too
High/Low mounted communications cabinets.
- Many
communication cabinets are used as storage rooms and in many cases
work areas are obstructed.
Economic
- In
previous audits, we have found installed telephone lines that are no
longer being utilised, but still being charged for.
- We
have detailed active equipment housed in communication cabinets which
are not required, therefore may be used elsewhere, saving space in
cabinets.
- We
have identified active equipment, no longer required, but still have
maintenance contracts attached to them.
- We
have freed up patch-panel ports enabling future network expansion at
lower costs.
